This past weekend the Baltimore Orioles<\/a> traveled to Arlington to take on the Texas Rangers<\/a> in a three-game series. Baltimore entered the All-Star break struggling and planned on leaving the break with a strong start. The Orioles did exactly what they needed to get back on track. They had strong performances on the mound and in the batter’s box as they took two out of three games.<\/p>\n

Orioles Ride Two Strong Starts<\/h2>\n

The Orioles turned to ace Corbin Burnes<\/a> and Grayson Rodriguez<\/a> in the series’ first two games. Burnes started the series for Baltimore and showed no signs of rust from the All-Star break. In six innings the Cy Young<\/a> candidate posted six strikeouts with only one earned run. The lone run was a home run given up to Nathaniel Lowe<\/a> in the bottom of the second. Outside of that, it was business as usual for Burnes as he only gave up one more hit on the day.<\/p>\n

Rodriguez followed in Burnes’ footsteps in the next game. In six innings he posted eight strikeouts and only two earned runs. The pitcher picked up his 12th win of the season as he continued to try to make his case as the Orioles’ number two.<\/p>\n

In the final game of the series, the Orioles turned to Dean Kremer<\/a>. He posted a decent start only giving up three runs on five hits. Furthermore, the bullpen only gave up one hit in the series finale, capping off a strong series for the Orioles relievers. However, unfortunately for Kremer, the final game of the series was the only one where the Orioles hitters saw any struggles.<\/p>\n

Orioles Sluggers Get Back on Track<\/h2>\n

Any issues the Orioles lineup was having before the All-Star break appeared to be gone afterward. The team scored nine runs in their first game and eight in the second. In the first game, the team relied solely on multi-run homers. Adley Rutschman<\/a> and Colton Cowser<\/a> both hit two-run home runs in the first. After that, Anthony Santander<\/a> took it from there with a two-run homer in the fifth and a three-run shot in the seventh.<\/p>\n

In the second game, the team saw scoring from many different players. Ram\u00f3n Ur\u00edas<\/a> had himself a day with three hits and two RBI. Similarly, in the third Cedric Mullins<\/a> joined the fun with a solo home run. The Orioles did not stop there, as Jordan Westburg<\/a> hit a two-run home run in the sixth. Then, Ryan O’Hearn<\/a> added a security score with a solo bomb in the ninth.<\/p>\n

In the final game, the Orioles did not struggle to get on base but left 12 runners stranded.<\/p>\n

Coming out of the All-Star break the Orioles showed why they are one of the top teams in the American League and hopefully can continue the strong hitting.<\/p>\n

\u00a0Looking Ahead<\/h3>\n

The Orioles appear to have gotten back on track and look to continue playing strong to close July. The team will begin a three-game series today in Miami against the Miami Marlins<\/a>. After that, they return home to Camden Yards for a seven-game homestand. They will first play the San Diego Padres<\/a> in a three-game series and then the Toronto Blue Jays<\/a> in a four-game series to close July.<\/p>\n
