The Texas Rangers<\/a> have brought a fan-favorite back into the fold, as they re-signed righty Nathan Eovaldi<\/a><\/strong>. The two sides came to terms on a three-year, $75 million pact at the Winter Meetings in Dallas on Wednesday evening. The club has not confirmed its agreement with Eovaldi, who spent the past two seasons in their rotation. Eovaldi became a free agent when he declined his $20 million player option, which vested when he reached 300 innings in 2023-24. The option was part of the previous two-year, $34 million deal Eovaldi signed with the Rangers in December of 2022. He had a 3.72 ERA with 298 strikeouts over 314 2\/3 innings in a Rangers uniform.<\/p>\n

Nathan Eovaldi appears to be one of those good things. He had a very good 2023 postseason, going 5-0 with a 2.95 ERA over six starts. His effort helped the Rangers win their first World Series title. It was the second World Series ring for Eovaldi. He won his first championship with the Boston Red Sox<\/a> in 2018. He owns an ERA of 3.05 over 79 2\/3 innings in his postseason career.<\/p>\n

More Depth<\/h4>\n

The addition of Eovaldi makes a notable difference in the depth of the Rangers\u2019 rotation. It is already deep as is. It consists of Nathan Eovaldi, Jacob deGrom<\/a><\/strong>, Tyler Mahle<\/a><\/strong>, Jon Gray<\/a><\/strong>, Cody Bradford<\/a>,<\/strong>\u00a0Kumar Rocker<\/a><\/strong>, Jack Leiter<\/a><\/strong> and Dane Dunning<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Pitching has been a top priority for the Rangers for the majority of the off-season. They were aware that it would come at a steep price, no matter whose name was on the back of the uniform.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
