ARLINGTON, Texas (Apr 19) \u2014 The Texas Rangers<\/a> made a dramatic comeback on Saturday afternoon, beating the Los Angeles Dodgers<\/a>, 4\u20133. Adolis Garcia<\/a><\/strong> did most of the heavy lifting with a two-run walk-off homer. The Rangers will aim to emerge victorious in this three-game series in an Easter Sunday matinee with first pitch scheduled for 1:35 pm Central. It will be a duel of Tylers as Tyler Glasnow<\/a><\/strong> (1\u20130, 4.85 ERA) will take the hill for the Dodgers, while Tyler Mahle<\/a><\/strong> (3\u20130, 0.92 ERA) will get the ball for the Rangers.<\/p>\n The Rangers broke into the run column in the bottom of the third against Dodgers starter Roki Sasaki<\/a><\/strong>. Dustin Harris<\/a><\/strong> led off the inning by drawing a walk, bringing up Kyle Higashioka<\/a><\/strong>. On a 2\u20131 pitch, Higashioka woke up the sellout crowd of 39,244 with a two-run blast to left-center.<\/p>\n The Dodgers got even in the top of the fourth off Rangers righty Nathan Eovaldi<\/a><\/strong>. A leadoff single to center by Mookie Betts<\/a><\/strong> set the table for Freddie Freeman<\/a><\/strong>, who launched one over the wall in right, his fourth homer of the year.<\/p>\n Two batters later, Michael Conforto<\/a><\/strong> reached on a single to center. He advanced to second on a throwing error by Eovaldi on a pickoff attempt.<\/p>\n In the on-deck circle was Max Muncy<\/a><\/strong>. He plated Conforto with a ground-rule double to right-center.<\/p>\n Adolis Garcia launched a walk-off, two-run home run to left-center off Dodgers reliever and former Ranger Kirby Yates<\/a><\/strong>. Josh Smith<\/a><\/strong> reached on a double before Garcia’s at-bat. This was Garcia\u2019s fourth career walk-off home run in his fifth career walk-off plate appearance. It was his first walk-off plate appearance since a game-ending solo homer on September 3, 2023 against the Minnesota Twins<\/a>.<\/p>\n His four walk-off homers rank second in club history, trailing Juan Gonz\u00e1lez<\/a><\/strong>, who had five. Garc\u00eda\u2019s four bombs in 2025 are tied for the club lead with Corey Seager<\/a><\/strong> and Wyatt Langford<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n A comeback win can be great for a team’s momentum. As for the Rangers, it seemed like they gained momentum as the afternoon went on. Several hitters in their lineup are in the midst of some very noteworthy slumps, and Garcia compensated for that with his late-inning home run.<\/p>\n Freddie Freeman bit the Rangers on Saturday with his two-run homer, much like Tommy Edman<\/a><\/strong> did on Friday with his lead-off shot in the first inning. The Dodgers have a way of deflating their opponents, and that’s what happened up until the ninth inning in this contest.<\/p>\n Rangers right-hander Nathan Eovaldi turned in his third quality start of the season. His line on the afternoon was 6 IP, 5 H, 3 R-2 ER, 0 BB, 7 SO, 1 HR, 90 pitches\/62 strikes. It marked his third career start against the Dodgers, his former club, and the first since August 21, 2013 with the Miami Marlins<\/a>. He reached 1,600 career innings after completing his third inning Saturday, becoming the 17th active pitcher to achieve the milestone.<\/p>\n Dodgers starter Roki Sasaki made his fifth career start, but did not factor into the decision despite notching his first quality start. His line was 6 IP, 2 H, 2 R-ER, 3 BB, 4 SO, 1 HR, 78 pitches\/49 strikes, including career highs in innings and strikeouts. He has posted five or more innings in back-to-back starts for the first time in his career. The lone damage against him was a Kyle Higashioka two-run home run in the 3rd\u2026he’s yielded a homer in back-to-back outings after evading the long ball over his first 3 career starts.<\/p>\n Rangers manager Bruce Bochy<\/a><\/strong> passed Dusty Baker<\/a><\/strong> for the seventh-most managerial victories in major league history with his 2,184th career win Saturday<\/span>. He is 11 wins shy of passing Sparky Anderson<\/a><\/strong> (2,194) for sixth all-time.<\/p>\n After the game, Bochy reflected on Garcia\u2019s big homer. \u201cHe plays with passion and emotion,\u201d he said. \u201cThat’s who he is. He’s just been terrific. I could see a difference this spring. He was just upbeat. He\u2019s had some tough luck with the hitting part, but he’s not letting it bother him.
