ARLINGTON, Texas (May 13) \u2014 The Texas Rangers<\/a> extended their winning streak to four as they beat the Colorado Rockies<\/a>, 4\u20131, on a very hot Tuesday night in Arlington. Josh Jung<\/strong><\/a> provided all the offense with a two-homer performance. The Rangers will go for the three-game sweep on Wednesday evening with first pitch scheduled for 7:05 pm Central. Right-hander Antonio Senzatela<\/a><\/strong> (1\u20136, 5.77 ERA) will take the hill for the Rockies, while lefty Patrick Corbin<\/a><\/strong> (2\u20132, 3.13 ERA) will toe the rubber for the Rangers.<\/p>\n The Rockies got on the board quickly in the top of the first off Rangers starter Jack Leiter<\/a><\/strong>. With one out in the frame, Jordan Beck<\/a><\/strong> reached on a single to center. After Ryan McMahon<\/a><\/strong> flied to left, Beck swiped second for his fifth stolen base of the year. Up next was Hunter Goodman<\/a><\/strong>, who drove in Beck with a sharp single to center.<\/p>\n The Rangers responded swiftly in the bottom of the first. Sam Haggerty<\/a><\/strong> and Langford put Rockies starter Kyle Freeland<\/a><\/strong> on the ropes with back-to-back singles. On deck was Jung, who connected on the first pitch he saw from Freeland, sending it to right-center beyond the Rangers’ bullpen. It was the fifth homer of the season for Jung. It also ran his RBI total to 14 for the year.<\/p>\n Jung went yard for a second time in the bottom of the eighth against Rockies reliever Zach Agnos<\/a><\/strong>. Jung led off the inning by depositing an 0\u20131 pitch four rows deep in left-center. It marks the fifth multi-homer game in his career.<\/p>\n It was the Josh Jung show for the Rangers on Tuesday. Any night you have a player who goes deep twice or more is a good night. The pitching staff also got out of some jams, including one where the Rockies had runners on the corners in the ninth, and they were able to get out of all of them.<\/p>\n The only roadblock the Rangers encountered was the RBI single by Goodman in the first inning. Other than that, the evening was pretty smooth for the home nine.<\/p>\n Rangers starter Jack Leiter tallied his first career quality start, allowing a single run over a career-high six innings to earn his third win of the season. His line was 2 H, 3 BB, 5 SO, 89 pitches\/57 strikes. He is now 3\u20132 with a 4.34 ERA in 2025. After the RBI single by Goodman, the Rockies went 0-for-15 with four strikeouts against Leiter.<\/p>\n He fired a 99.7 mph fastball to Jordan Beck in the first, matching the fastest pitch of his career, per Statcast<\/i>. Leiter threw first-pitch strikes to 16 of the 22 batters he faced, his second-highest first-pitch strike percentage of 2025. Opposing batters are 5-for-38 (.132) off Leiter in his last two starts.<\/p>\n After Chris Martin<\/a><\/strong> departed in the ninth with Rangers head athletic trainer Matt Lucero, Shawn Armstrong<\/a><\/strong> came in and struck out three, recording his first save of the year.<\/p>\n Armstrong became the sixth Rangers pitcher to tally a save in 2024, the most hurlers on one AL team to register at least one save this season.<\/p>\n Rockies starter Kyle Freeland made his ninth start of the season on Tuesday and was saddled with his sixth loss, bringing his record to 0\u20136 with an ERA of 6.15. Freeland was tagged for the three-run shot in the first by Jung but settled in to hold Rangers hitters 3-for-21 with three singles and one walk following the homer until exiting after the sixth.<\/p>\n He received one run of support as he entered play with a 2.29 run support average. That ranks third-lowest in the NL, and the fifth-lowest in baseball. Freeland has been backed with one or zero runs in six of his nine starts in 2025. He issued one walk on Tuesday, and now sports a 3.86% walk rate (8 BB\/207 PA) in \u201825. That ranks sixth-lowest in baseball at the conclusion of Tuesday\u2019s game.<\/p>\n Rangers manager Bruce Bochy<\/strong><\/a> had nothing but praise for Josh Jung after the game. “He’s been swinging it well,” he said. “We’ve seen some really inspiring baseball from him.
