In their latest offseason moves, the Texas Rangers<\/a> have announced that <\/span>the club did not tender 2026 contract offers to outfielder Adolis Garc\u00eda<\/a><\/strong>, catcher Jonah Heim<\/a><\/strong>, righty Josh Sborz<\/a><\/strong>, and right-hander Jacob Webb<\/a><\/strong> prior to Friday\u2019s 4:00 pm CT deadline. The four players are now free agents.\u00a0 Additionally, the club has agreed to terms with outfielder Sam Haggerty<\/a><\/strong> on a one-year contract covering the 2026 season, avoiding arbitration. Following Friday\u2019s transactions, the Rangers have 34 players on their 40-man roster.<\/span><\/p>\n

Other Rangers Offseason Moves<\/h4>\n

On the flip side, the Rangers tendered contract offers to each of the other 27 eligible players on the roster. With the addition of Haggerty, the club already has seven players under contract for 2026. They include right-handers Jacob deGrom<\/a>, Nathan Eovaldi<\/a>, outfielder Sam Haggerty, catcher Kyle Higashioka<\/a><\/strong>, DH Joc Pederson<\/a><\/strong>, shortstop Corey Seager<\/a><\/strong>, and second baseman Marcus Semien<\/a><\/strong>.<\/u><\/u><\/span><\/p>\n

The Rangers have four remaining players eligible for salary arbitration in 2026 including Jake Burger<\/a><\/strong>, Ezequiel Duran<\/a><\/strong>, Josh Jung<\/a><\/strong>, and Josh Smith<\/a><\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Garcia\u2019s Struggles<\/h4>\n

The 32-year-old Garc\u00eda batted .227 (115-for-507) with 19 home runs and 75 RBI in 135 games for the Rangers in 2025. He posted his fifth consecutive season of at least 135 games played.\u00a0 His 745 games since joining the club in 2020 were the most by any Ranger in that span. The outfielder combined for a .237\/.294\/.442\/.736 slash line with 141 home runs and 458 RBI during his Rangers tenure.<\/p>\n

Garc\u00eda also batted .323 with a 1.108 OPS, eight home runs, and a playoff-record 22 RBI over 15 postseason contests for the Rangers in 2023, collecting ALCS MVP honors after they downed the Houston Astros<\/a>, four games to three.\u00a0 The Cuba native was acquired by the Rangers from the St. Louis Cardinals<\/a> in exchange for cash considerations on December 21, 2019.<\/p>\n

Heim\u2019s 2025 Season<\/h4>\n

Jonah Heim batted .213 with a .602 OPS, 11 home runs, and 43 RBI in 124 games in 2025. He started a team-high 91 games behind the dish. Over five seasons, the switch-hitter slashed .226\/.282\/.374\/.657 with 68 home runs and 277 RBI in 595 games. Heim was originally acquired by the Rangers from the then-Oakland Athletics on February 6, 2021. This was part of the trade that sent Elvis Andrus<\/a><\/strong> to the Athletics.<\/p>\n

Sborz\u2019 Recovery<\/h4>\n

Josh Sborz did not pitch in the majors in 2025 as he recovered from right shoulder surgery.\u00a0 He appeared in four seasons as a reliever for the Rangers. He owned a 13\u201312 record, 4.86 ERA, and 11.0 strikeouts per 9.0 innings during his Rangers tenure. Sborz allowed one earned run over 12 innings of postseason play during the Rangers\u2019 2023 World series run. He forever became a part of Rangers lore when he struck out Ketel Marte<\/strong><\/a> of the Arizona Diamondbacks<\/a> for the final out of the World Series, giving the Rangers their first title. Sborz was originally acquired from the Los Angeles Dodgers<\/a> on February 16, 2021 in exchange for righty Jhan Zambrano<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Durable Webb<\/h4>\n

Jacob Webb went 5\u20134 with one save and a 3.00 ERA in 55 relief appearances for the Rangers in 2025, his first season in Arlington.\u00a0 He ranked third among Rangers relievers in strikeouts and fourth in appearances this year.\u00a0 In six major league seasons with the club, Webb is 17\u201314 with 7 saves and a 2.99 ERA in 247 games, all in relief.<\/p>\n
