MESA, Ariz. \u2014 Growing up, Athletics<\/a> center fielder Denzel Clarke<\/a><\/strong> watched Team Canada with the same awe most kids reserve for superheroes. Whether it was the men\u2019s Olympic hockey team or the national baseball team on the world stage, Clarke felt that. Those images shaped his understanding of what it meant to represent a country. They showed how much pride was wrapped up in the maple leaf. That pride became personal when he first put on a Canada jersey.<\/p>\n \u201cIt was cool,\u201d Clarke said, \u201cseeing how much pride and honor they had representing their country. I got to play on the junior national team, then a couple of times on the senior national team.
