The New York Mets<\/a> announced that Juan Soto<\/a> is set to return from injury and is projected to rejoin the team for Wednesday’s game against the Minnesota Twins<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The superstar outfielder has been sidelined since April 3, when he injured his calf running the bases. But he ran the bases before Tuesday\u2019s game against the Twins at Citi Field, with manager Carlos Mendoza claiming Soto underwent a \u201cfull day of high intensity running, changing direction and full baseball activity.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWe cannot put all the pressure on one player,\u201d Mendoza said. \u201cWe\u2019ve got a lot of good players that, unfortunately, have been going through it for quite a bit now.\u201d<\/p>\n

Juan Soto Will Make a Pivotal Return<\/h2>\n

Since Juan Soto was put on the injured list, the Mets only won one game. Next came a 12-game losing streak, including three shutout losses. However, when Soto was in the lineup, they won six of their first 10. Not to mention, he had 11 hits, two doubles, five RBI, and a home run in 31 at-bats.<\/p>\n

Furthermore, Juan Soto is making his return at the right time, with the Mets needing all hands on deck to snap this 12-game losing streak. But Mendoza did note that he will be managing Soto\u2019s workload upon his return, and he will not play in consecutive games for the time being.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou just have to trust each other. You have to stay together, but adding him to the lineup will definitely help,\u201d Mendoza added.<\/p>\n

In Other News<\/h2>\n

The Mets brought up righty Christian Scott<\/a> from Triple-A Syracuse to start in Thursday\u2019s series finale against the Twins. He will replace veteran David Peterson<\/a>, who lost his spot in the rotation due to multiple lackluster starts.<\/p>\n

Scott has been proficient in his last two minor league starts, allowing only two runs on four hits with 12 strikeouts in 10 innings. His call-up comes after he sprained his UCL in the 2024 season, which led to a drop in velocity. Ultimately, he chose to undergo Tommy John surgery to reconstruct his UCL.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe way he\u2019s been throwing the ball the past couple of outings in the minor leagues, we knew it was just going to be a matter of time before he was helping us,\u201d Mendoza said. \u201cHe earned it. We’re excited about that.\u201d<\/p>\n
