The Houston Astros<\/a> fell to the Milwaukee Brewers<\/a>, 2\u20130, on Sunday afternoon at Daikin Park as Brewers pitching delivered a scoreless performance in the series finale.<\/span><\/p>\n A two-run home run from Jake Bauers<\/a> in the fourth inning scored enough for the Brewers as the Astros could not capitalize on multiple early opportunities at the plate.<\/span><\/p>\n The game opened as a pitching duel between Tatsuya Imai<\/a> and Jacob Misiorowski<\/a>. Both starters retired the side in order during the first inning, and neither offense generated much momentum through the opening two frames.<\/span><\/p>\n The Astros created their best scoring opportunity in the third inning. The right-hander consistently worked ahead in counts and limited hard contact before turning the game over to the Brewers relief corps.<\/span><\/p>\n Abner Uribe<\/a> handled the eighth inning, and Trevor Megill<\/a> retired the Astros in order during the ninth to secure the victory and salvage the final game of the series for the Brewers.<\/span><\/p>\n Imai allowed two runs, both coming on Bauers’ fourth-inning homer. Santa and Pearson combined for four scoreless innings of relief.<\/span><\/p>\n The Astros avoided additional damage throughout the afternoon and received strong infield defense from Nick Allen<\/a> and Isaac Paredes.<\/span><\/p>\n Santa and Pearson retired six of the final seven Brewers hitters and prevented the Brewers from adding insurance runs.<\/span><\/p>\n Astros loaded the bases in the third inning but failed to score after Walker grounded out to end the frame.<\/span><\/p>\n The Astros managed four hits and did not record an extra-base hit after Paredes doubled in the fourth inning.<\/span><\/p>\n Misiorowski consistently generated weak contact and prevented the Astros from building sustained rallies.<\/span><\/p>\n The Astros stranded six runners and went scoreless despite placing runners in scoring position during multiple innings.<\/span><\/p>\n The Astros welcome the Pirates to Daikin Park on Tuesday, June 2, for the opening game of a three-game series.
