Francisco Lindor<\/a><\/strong> has been the center of the New York Mets<\/a> conversations due there being growing skepticism that the team could trade him at the deadline due to him struggling. Still, that possibility does remain unlikely because of his contract including a no-trade clause.<\/p>\n The All-Star shortstop put the chatter behind him, proving substantial contributions in a 6\u20131 victory over the Philadelphia Phillies<\/a> at Citizens Bank Park Sunday. He delivered three hits, three RBI and a two-run homer. In total, he reached base five times and eclipsed another milestone of 1,700 career hits.<\/p>\n After Bo Bichette<\/strong><\/a> drew a walk, Lindor delivered a deep two-run shot to right. This put the Mets ahead by two runs. Next, Carson Benge<\/a><\/strong> lined a single and Jared Young<\/a><\/strong> was hit by a pitch. Yet, the Mets were unable to score with two runners on. In the bottom half of the inning, righty Nolan McLean<\/strong><\/a> struck out sluggers Trea Turner<\/strong><\/a> and Bryce Harper<\/strong><\/a> to end the inning.<\/p>\n Brett Baty<\/strong><\/a> started the second with a single, before Luis Torrens<\/strong><\/a> hit an RBI double. Juan Soto<\/a><\/strong> drew a walk and Bichette singled. With the bases loaded, Francisco Lindor lined an RBI single to score Torrens. Benge followed with a sacrifice fly that scored Soto, increasing the Mets lead to five runs.<\/p>\n McLean ran into trouble in the second, giving up a hit and a walk. But, he managed to keep the Phillies off the board. In the third, the righty struck out two more batters, including Turner to end the frame.<\/p>\n Bichette lined another single in the fourth, as Lindor drew his first walk. This was to the avail of Benge failing to score both runners. The Phillies remained stagnant as well, with McLean punching out Kyle Schwarber<\/strong><\/a>. McLean struck out two more in the fifth.<\/p>\n Torrens singled to start the sixth, as Soto scored him on an RBI single. Lindor drew his second walk, only for Benge to come up short again. However, McLean remained in control, getting three more strikeouts to end his outing with 10 in six innings. A.J. Minter<\/strong><\/a> replaced McLean in the seventh, but gave up a solo home run.<\/p>\n In the eighth, Lindor lined a double, marking his fifth time reaching base during the game and his 1,700th career hit. Benge and Tyrone Taylor<\/strong><\/a> drew walks, loading the bases. However, the Mets were unable to capitalize on this opportunity and didn\u2019t score again.<\/p>\n The Mets were in luck due to Huascar Brazoban<\/strong><\/a> keeping the Phillies off the board, as he struck out Schwarber and Harper in the eighth. Cionel Perez<\/strong><\/a> sealed the five-run win in the ninth with two strikeouts.<\/p>\n Francisco Lindor led the Mets with three hits, three RBI and a two-run homer. Performances like these will ensure that the trade conversations remain on the back burner. Soto and Torrens provided support, combining for four hits and two RBI.<\/p>\n McLean received his seventh win of the season, recording 10 strikeouts in six innings. He surrendered only two hits, as he holds a 3.34 ERA. Brazoban delivered two strikeouts of his own as Perez did the same.<\/p>\n Minter giving up a solo shot ended the Mets chances of completing a shutout. He also gave up three hits in addition to an earned run. The Mets also faltered during key situations when they had runners in scoring position.<\/p>\n After beating the Phillies in the series finale, the Mets will remain on the road and begin a three-game series against the Milwaukee Brewers<\/a>. Freddy Peralta <\/a><\/strong>(5\u20138, 4.66 ERA) will start for the Mets in the series opener against Jacob Misiorowski<\/a><\/strong> (10\u20134, 1.62 ERA).
