New York Mets<\/a> outfielder Juan Soto<\/a> <\/strong>is dealing with a minor left quad injury. It occurred July 16 against the Philadelphia Phillies<\/a>. He missed the remainder of that game, before returning two days later. This comes as he sustained a right quad strain in April and was sidelined for 15 games<\/p>\n

To prevent another IL stint, Soto and the team have proceeded with caution. He sat out of their last game to ensure he is well rested ahead of their 10-game homestead.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe were gonna stay away from him, try to give him 48 hours to get the calf thing completely behind him. He\u2019s been able to be out there on it, but it has to be something that he\u2019s dealt with on a minor level,\u201d interim manager Andy Green<\/strong><\/a> said. \u201cAt this point in time, him playing the rest of the season as healthy as possible is important to us.\u201d<\/p>\n

Juan Soto Injury<\/h4>\n

In early April, Soto went down with a left quad strain. The injury took him out of action until the latter half of the month. During his time on the sidelines, the Mets went on a 12-game losing streak and plunged to the bottom of the Nation League standings.<\/p>\n

Upon returning, Juan Soto got back into a groove, recording 27 hits, 10 home runs and 21 RBI in May. He continued to succeed in June, tallying 24 hits, 10 home runs and 21 RBI. As a result, he made his fifth All-Star appearance, starting in the outfield for the NL. Soto was also the Mets\u2019 sole representative in this year\u2019s mid-summer spectacle.<\/p>\n

For those reasons, the Mets are proceeding with caution when it comes to Soto\u2019s health. If he sustains another injury this could further derail their season that has already been plagued by injuries. Additionally, they don\u2019t have many replacements for Juan Soto with Brett Baty<\/a><\/strong> being the next best option.<\/p>\n
