The New York Mets<\/a> put seven runs across the board in five innings to defeat the Miami Marlins<\/a> 7-5 at LoanDepot Park on Tuesday. Francisco Lindor<\/a> hit a lead-off homer, and Juan Soto<\/a> followed up with a three-run blast in the second. Brett Baty<\/a> added a solo shot of his own in the sixth and scored another off a sacrifice fly. Their efforts came as left-hander Sean Manaea<\/a> carried a no-hitter through five innings. Despite surrendering four runs in the sixth, the veteran southpaw ended with four strikeouts and improved his record to 5-7.<\/p>\n Linder started the game by taking Sandy Alcantara<\/a> deep. Alcantara proceeded to walk Soto and Bo Bichette<\/a>. With runners in scoring position, Jared Young<\/a> scored Soto on an RBI single to center field.<\/p>\n In the second, Francisco Alvarez<\/a> singled off Alcantara. Alcantara then hit Lindor on a pitch. This set up Soto for a three-run shot to center field, which gave the Mets a five-run lead.<\/p>\n Baty followed that up with a solo shot to center field in the third. Manaea, on the other hand, struck out Jared Serna<\/a> swinging in the third. He kept the no-hitter intact during the fifth when he struck out Otto Lopez<\/a>.<\/p>\n Young drew a walk and A.J. Ewing<\/a> lined a double to right field to start the fifth. Baty scored Young on a deep sacrifice fly to center field. Despite the showing, Manaea unraveled in the sixth. The Mets lefty gave up a single to Jakob Marsee<\/a> and an RBI double to Serna. Brian Navarreto<\/a> scored Serna on an RBI double of his own.<\/p>\n Manaea\u2019s outing came to an end after surrendering an RBI single to Lopez. Jonathan Pintaro<\/a> replaced him and gave up a single to Javier Sanoja<\/a>. A throwing error from Ewing allowed Lopez to score, cutting the Mets lead down to three.<\/p>\n In the seventh, Nate Lavender<\/a> struck out Deyvison De Los Santos<\/a> but surrendered hits to Marsee and Serna. Still, Lavender struck out Kyle Stowers<\/a> and ended the inning without giving up a hit. Right-hander Kodai Senga<\/a> allowed a run to score in the ninth when he gave up consecutive doubles to Joe Mack<\/a> and Marsee. Yet, the former starter sealed the win by striking out Owen Caissie<\/a> and Stowers.<\/p>\n Lindor started the game with a homer, marking his 17th of the regular season. Soto hit a three-run shot during the third. Baty added a solo home run of his own and scored another off an RBI single. In total, the Mets tallied eight hits and seven RBI.<\/p>\n Manaea kept a no-hitter alive through five innings. Although he struggled in the sixth, he did enough to earn his fifth win. He finished with four strikeouts, five hits and four earned runs in five innings. Lavender and Senga, on the other hand, sealed the victory in the final innings with a combined four strikeouts.<\/p>\n Manaea lost the no-hitter in the sixth when he gave up the four aforementioned runs. Ewing also committed a costly throwing error which allowed the Marlins’ final run of the sixth to score.<\/p>\n With the series won, the Mets can complete the sweep with one more win. Right-hander Robert Stock<\/a> (1-3, 5.81 ERA) will start for the Mets against right-hander Janson Junk<\/a> of the Marlins.
