Despite facing a four-run deficit, the Milwaukee Brewers<\/a> responded with six unanswered runs to complete the series sweep of the Los Angeles Dodgers<\/a> in Game Four of the NLCS with a 6\u20134 victory at Dodger Stadium on Thursday. Now they are headed to the World Series for the first time since 1982 when they were a member of the American League.<\/p>\n After a four-run second inning from the Dodgers, Jake Bauers<\/a> kickstarted the Brewers comeback with a two-run double in the bottom half of the inning. Two more runs scored in the fifth before Garrett Mitchell<\/a> and David Hamilton<\/a> went yard to put their team ahead. Additionally, left-hander JoJo Romero<\/a> received the win for striking out three batters across two scoreless innings. Fellow left-hander Aaron Ashby<\/a> recorded his second save of the postseason, sealing the win with three strikeouts in three scoreless innings.<\/p>\n Tyler Glasnow<\/a> made it through the first two innings without giving up a hit, totaling four strikeouts. Shane Drohan<\/a> struck out Shohei Ohtani<\/a> but walked Freddie Freeman<\/a> and Mookie Betts<\/a> in the bottom of the first. A double play ended the inning, preventing any runs from scoring.<\/p>\n In the bottom of the second, Drohan\u2019s outing ended after giving up a single to Kyle Tucker<\/a>. Right-hander Dustin May<\/a> replaced him and surrendered a single to Teoscar Hernandez<\/a>. With two runners on, Andy Pages<\/a> lined an RBI single to score the Dodgers first run. The lead increased to four when Ohtani crushed a 428-foot three-run homer, marking his first home run of the postseason.<\/p>\n Glasnow issued a free pass to Brice Turang<\/a> in the top of the fourth. William Contreras<\/a> doubled to advance Turang to third. Bauers followed up with a ground-rule double of his own, scoring Turang and Contreras to make it a 4-2 game.<\/p>\n Glasnow walked Sal Frelick<\/a> in the top of the fifth before Hamilton hit an RBI single to bring the game within a run. After Evan Phillips<\/a> replaced Glasnow, Hamilton swiped second to record his third steal of the NLCS. The Dodgers walked Turang before Phillips issued a free pass to Contreras, loading the bases for the Brewers. Bauers made the most of the opportunity, drawing a walk to tie the game at 4-4.<\/p>\n The momentum carried over to the top of the sixth when Mitchell crushed a 409-foot solo home run to put the Brewers in front. Tanner Scott<\/a> mitigated the damage, striking out Cooper Pratt<\/a> and Hamilton swinging.<\/p>\n In the bottom half of the inning, Tucker doubled off Romero before advancing to third. But Romero struck out Max Muncy<\/a> swinging to end the frame and escape. Pages started the bottom of the seventh with a double, and Enrique Hernandez<\/a>‘s sacrifice bunt advanced him to third. However, Ashby struck out Ohtani and prevented the Dodgers from scoring Pages. Will Smith<\/a> tripled in the bottom of the eighth, but Ashby struck out Hernandez to escape the inning.<\/p>\n In the top of the ninth, Hamilton provided the Brewers with insurance, crushing a 402-foot solo homer off Edwin Diaz<\/a>, who retired the first eight batters he had faced up to that point. In the bottom half of the inning, Ashby got Tommy Edman<\/a> to ground to short before he struck out Pages looking and got Hernandez on a fly to left, sealing the win for the Brewers.<\/p>\n With their backs against the wall early, the Brewers responded with six runs. The first two were courtesy of Bauer’s two-run double in the fourth. Hamilton brought the deficit down to one with an RBI single before Bauers walked in the tying run. Mitchell and Hamilton provided insurance with separate solo home runs. Overall, the Brewers totaled five hits, six RBI, and two home runs.<\/p>\n Romero settled in for two innings in which he earned three strikeouts to receive the win. Ashby sealed the victory and recorded his second save of the playoffs, recording three strikeouts across three scoreless innings.<\/p>\n Drohan did not have his best performance, surrendering a hit, an earned run and two walks in an inning. May also underperformed, giving up four hits and three earned runs.<\/p>\n The Dodgers had control over this game for the first four innings as they scored four in the fourth. Pages lined an RBI single. Ohtani crushed a 428 foot three-run bomb. Diaz also lasted three innings with two strikeouts to a hit and an earned run.<\/p>\n Glasnow lasted 4 1\/3 innings, giving up four earned runs on three hits and two walks. Despite tallying six strikeouts, his command and control were not up to par. Phillips issued two walks. Scott walked two and surrendered an earned run. The Dodgers also failed to score with a runner on third in the seventh and eighth.<\/p>\n After completing the series sweep of the Dodgers, the Brewers will wait on the results of the ALCS between the Cleveland Guardians<\/a> and Tampa Bay Rays<\/a> to determine whom they will face in the World Series. The Guardians hold a 2\u20131 series lead after pulling off a 3-2 win<\/a> in Game Three earlier on Thursday.
