PHOENIX, Apr. 10 \u2014 Right-hander Zac Gallen<\/a><\/strong> scattered three hits across seven scoreless innings, striking out 11 to lead the Arizona Diamondbacks<\/a> to a 3\u20130 shutout victory over the Milwaukee Brewers<\/a> Monday night.<\/p>\n The Diamondbacks got on the board in the bottom of the first after the Brewers went down 1\u20132\u20133. Second baseman Ketel Marte<\/a><\/strong> roped an opposite-field double to the right-field corner off Brewers southpaw Wade Miley<\/a><\/strong>. He scored on a follow-up single by designated hitter Josh Rojas<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n Gallen got into a slight jam in the top of the second. Catcher William Contreras<\/a><\/strong> singled to left-center before third baseman Brian Anderson<\/a><\/strong> struck out looking. After center fielder Garrett Mitchell<\/a><\/strong> walked, a wild pitch advanced both runners. Designated hitter Luke Voit<\/a><\/strong>, the batter during the wild pitch, ultimately struck out, as did second baseman Brice Turang<\/a><\/strong> to retire the side.<\/p>\n The Brewers did not have another base runner until the fifth, but Gallen faced the minimum three anyway. Mitchell singled to right but was erased when Voit grounded into a 6\u20134\u20133 double play. Turang bounced an 11-hop (give or take) seeing-eye single to center, bringing up right fielder Joey Wiemer<\/a><\/strong>. On the third pitch, Turang bolted for second.
