Injury Updates<\/h4>\n

Ketel Marte<\/a><\/strong> is back in the lineup. Manager Torey Lovullo<\/a><\/strong> said he\u2019s \u201cfeeling fine.\u201d<\/p>\n

Joe Mantiply<\/a><\/strong> threw two innings last night in Amarillo and is now in St. Louis on the taxi squad.<\/p>\n

Kyle Lewis<\/a><\/strong> is \u201cfeeling much better,\u201d although Lovullo could give no further updates.<\/p>\n

Misc.<\/h4>\n

Merrill Kelly<\/a><\/strong> was \u201cfantastic\u201d last time but did not get run support. \u201cHe and Zac Gallen<\/a><\/strong> put together (great) back-to-back outings last time, and hopefully that happens again today.<\/p>\n

Zac Gallen was named NL Player of the Week. \u201cHuge congrats to him. It doesn’t surprise me. He gets rolling, and he gets to the point where things start to come very easily to him once he’s on the mound. But behind it, he is working as hard as anybody we have. There’s a lot of studying that’s going on. He knows the spots to land pitches, knows how<\/em> to land pitches. He’s got an incredible mentality out there. He doesn’t want to just win a baseball game but really wants to shut you completely down. And I think it’s 13 and two thirds scoreless (Note: It\u2019s 14 2\/3.)<\/em> He doesn’t care about that, I promise you. He just knows that we’ve won those games that he’s pitched in. That’s the most important thing to him.<\/p>\n

Cardinals<\/a> first baseman and former Diamondback Paul Goldschmidt<\/a><\/strong> has a scheduled day off. Lovullo said it\u2019s a case where, when he sat a star in April, he was \u201cresting for big moments in August, September, and October.\u201d Lovullo also said he talked to Goldschmidt and that \u201che\u2019s fine. It\u2019s just a normal day off.\u201d<\/p>\n
