Diamondbacks vs Giants Pregame \u2014 May 13, 2023<\/h2>\n

PHOENIX, May 14 \u2014 It is Game Four of a four-game set between the host Arizona Diamondbacks<\/a> and the visiting San Francisco Giants<\/a>. It is the tenth game of a ten-game homestand for the Diamondbacks. For the Giants, this is the only stop on their road trip. Right-hander Brandon Pfaadt<\/a><\/strong> (0\u20131, 12.10 ERA) will start for the Diamondbacks against Giants righty Logan Webb<\/a><\/strong> (3\u20135, 3.46 ERA). Prior to the game, Giants manager Gabe Kapler<\/a><\/strong> met with the media on hand. Here are the highlights.<\/p>\n

Giants Manager Gabe Kapler<\/h3>\n

Shortstop Brandon Crawford<\/a><\/strong> has returned from injury for Sunday\u2019s game. The team is going to manage his workload, easing him back into the lineup in an effort to prevent a reinjury.<\/p>\n

Outfielder Mike Yastrzemski<\/a><\/strong> ran the bases during warmups and is close to returning from his left hamstring strain. Kapler said he will be back for the series in San Francisco against the Philadelphia Phillies, which is from Monday to Wednesday, May 15 to 17.<\/p>\n

Outfielder Joc Pederson<\/a><\/strong> is feeling better in regards to his inflamed right wrist. Kapler said it\u2019s a \u201cday-to-day\u201d situation with Pederson. He might be available off the bench Sunday but most likely will not return until they get back to San Francisco.<\/p>\n

Kapler does not feel that Pfaadt\u2019s performance thus far in the majors is indicative of his talent. Kapler added \u201cHe\u2019s got really good stuff,\u201d \u201cSo we have to be prepared. He\u2019s gonna come out with a really good fastball.\u201d<\/p>\n
