PHOENIX, June 16 \u2014 The Arizona Diamondbacks<\/a> continued their seven-game homestand with the Cleveland Guardians<\/a> visiting Chase Field. Former Diamondbacks pitching prospect Touki Toussaint<\/a> went up against ace Zac Gallen<\/a>. Triston McKenzie<\/a> was originally the scheduled starter for Cleveland but was scratched prior to the first pitch with what was announced as right elbow discomfort.<\/p>\n The Arizona Diamondbacks got back to winning, and in front of 27,203 fans, they won with timely hitting and aggressive base running in a 5-1 win over the Guardians. They scored runs in the first, second, sixth, and seventh innings to give Zac Gallen his eighth win on the season.<\/p>\n Gallen gave up a leadoff hit to Steven Kwan<\/a> but then settled in to get Amed Rosario<\/a> to ground into a double play before Jose Ramirez lined out to Ketel Marte<\/a>.<\/p>\n Bottom of the first, after Pavin Smith<\/a> grounded out, Marte walked Corbin Carroll<\/a> was out on strikes for the second out. Christian Walker<\/a> hit double number 18 on the year to center field and Marte scored. Lourdes Gurriel Jr<\/a>. grounded out to end the inning. Diamondbacks 1, Guardians 0.<\/em><\/p>\n After a three up-three down top of the second, Jake McCarthy<\/a> singled to left field then stole second. Gabriel Moreno<\/a> walked. Josh Rojas<\/a> sacrificed McCarthy to third and Moreno to second. Geraldo Perdomo<\/a> hit a sacrifice fly to right field, scoring McCarthy.
