PHOENIX, Sep. 2 \u2014 The Baltimore Orioles<\/a> used a six-run fourth inning to defeat the Arizona Diamondbacks<\/a>, 7\u20132, Saturday night at Chase Field.<\/p>\n Diamondbacks rookie right-hander Slade Cecconi<\/a><\/strong> looked good for three innings and was given an early 2\u20130 lead. Kyle Bradish<\/a><\/strong>, who attended Millennium High School in the Phoenix suburb of Goodyear, started for the Orioles. Bradish shook off a rough start to settle in and let his offense carry him with a homer and aggressive baserunning on seven consecutive hits.<\/p>\n With first pitch right at 5:10 pm and outside temperature 93 degrees, Adley Rutschman<\/a><\/strong> popped out to second baseman Ketel Marte<\/a><\/strong> for the first out. Gunnar Henderson<\/a><\/strong> was out on strikes for the second out. Anthony Santander<\/a><\/strong> doubled, number 33 on the year, to right. Cecconi escaped the top of the first by getting Ryan O’Hearn<\/a><\/strong> on a grounder to second.<\/p>\n In the bottom of the third, Geraldo Perdomo<\/a><\/strong> walked. Corbin Carroll<\/a><\/strong> singled on a ground ball to third baseman Ramon Urias<\/a><\/strong>, deflected by Bradish. Perdomo immediately moved to third. Ketel Marte doubled, number 22 on the year, scoring Perdomo and Carroll moved to third.<\/p>\n After Tommy Pham<\/a><\/strong> was out on strikes, Christian Walker<\/a><\/strong> was hit by pitch to load the bases. Alek Thomas<\/a><\/strong> grounded into a force out, to shortstop and Carroll scored. The inning ended when Lourdes Gurriel Jr.<\/a><\/strong> grounded out to shortstop. Diamondbacks 2, Orioles 0.<\/em><\/p>\n After Santander led off the fourth with a fly to left, O’Hearn singled on a sharp liner to center. Austin Hays<\/a><\/strong> singled on a ground ball to third, and Hearn took second. Cedric Mullins<\/a><\/strong> a deep fly ball to right field, clearing the fence for his 13th homer of the season as O’Hearn and Hays scored. Urias singled on a ground ball to second base, scoring when Adam Frazier<\/a><\/strong> followed with a double to center.<\/p>\n James McCann<\/a><\/strong> doubled on a liner to center, scoring Frazier. Rutschman brought McCann home on a sharp single to right. At this point, Joe Mantiply<\/a><\/strong> replaced Cecconi and got the final two outs. Orioles 6, Diamondbacks 2.<\/em><\/p>\n In the top of the seventh, Scott McGough<\/a><\/strong> replaced Miguel Castro<\/a><\/strong> and immediately gave up Adley Rutschman’s 17th homer of the year on a deep fly to right-center. For McGough, it was home run number 12 in 64 innings. Orioles 7, Diamondbacks 2.<\/em><\/p>\n The Orioles brought in the recently called-up Joey Krehbiel<\/a><\/strong> to finish off the Diamondbacks in the bottom of the ninth. He gave up a solo home run to Gabriel Moreno<\/a><\/strong> before getting the last two outs.<\/p>\n Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo commented after the game. \u201cFrom an offensive stand point, we never found the rhythm.\u201d Of Cecconi, he said, \u201cSlade was adequate early on but made some mistakes later on.\u201d On Christian Walker being removed due to right hand discomfort \u2014 \u201cHe is doing fine. Just a contusion, but he will be sore.\u201d<\/p>\n The Diamondbacks have won 11 of their last 17. … Corbin Carroll’s .425 average (17-for-40) since Aug. 19 ranks fourth in the majors. … Christian Walker, over his last 19 games, is batting .319 (22-for-69)\/1.018 OPS with 1 double, 1 triple, 6 home runs, 13 runs, 18 RBI, and nine walks. … Tommy Pham has hit safely in 19 of 21 games.<\/p>\n The Orioles went 18-9 in August, their most wins since April. They have won at least 16 games in four of the five full months this season. … Shortstop Gunnar Henderson leads the Orioles with 10 defensive runs saved. … The Orioles have scored 347 runs on the road, the fifth most in the majors.<\/p>\n Sunday, the Diamondbacks will send Zac Gallen<\/a><\/strong> (14\u20136, 3.32 ERA) to the mound against Orioles right-hander Jack Flaherty<\/a><\/strong> (8\u20138, 4.73 ERA).
