2023 World Series: Rangers 3, Diamondbacks 1; Rangers lead Series, 2\u20131<\/h2>\n

PHOENIX, Oct. 30 \u2014 A three-run third, capped by a no-doubt two-run homer by Corey Seager<\/a><\/strong>, gave the Texas Rangers<\/a> a 3\u20131 victory over the Arizona Diamondbacks<\/a> Monday night in Phoenix. Jon Gray<\/a><\/strong>, in emergency long-relief duty due to an injury to Rangers starter Max Scherzer<\/a><\/strong>, tossed three scoreless innings to frustrate the Diamondbacks and preserve the Rangers’ lead. Josh Sborz<\/a><\/strong> and Jose Leclerc<\/a><\/strong> added an inning each of scoreless relief to seal the victory.<\/p>\n

Diamondbacks right-hander Brandon Pfaadt<\/a><\/strong> had another effective outing, with the three-run third being his only runs allowed. Miguel Castro<\/a><\/strong>, Kyle Nelson<\/a><\/strong>, Luis Frias<\/a><\/strong>, and Andrew Saalfrank<\/a><\/strong> combined for scoreless relief to keep the Rangers from expanding their lead.<\/p>\n
