The 2025 NL Silver Sluggers were announced on Thursday, with two New York Mets taking home the honor. First baseman Pete Alonso won the award for the first time in his career. Outfielder Juan Soto took home his sixth career Silver Slugger. Shortstop Francisco Lindor lost out on winning the award to Geraldo Perdomo.

Alonso, Soto Are NL Silver Sluggers

Coming into his seventh season in Queens, Alonso had never won the NL Silver Slugger. That changed this year when he hit 38 home runs, 126 RBI and 41 doubles in 624 at-bats. The first baseman had a .272 average, .871 OPS and a 3.4 WAR. The only other time Alonso was an NL Silver Slugger finalist was during the 2022 season. This time, he beat out Matt Olson and Freddie Freeman to receive the honor.

Meanwhile, Soto already won five Sliver Sluggers, making this year’s his sixth. In 160 games, the outfielder hit 43 home runs, 105 RBI and 20 doubles. He ended this season with a .263 average and .921 OPS on top of stealing 38, to become the first Met in franchise history to record more than 30 stolen bases and 40 home runs.

The achievement came after he was listed as an NL MVP finalist. Soto is competing against Shohei Ohtani and Kyle Schwarber for the league’s most prestigious honor.

Lindor Losses Out

Lindor hit 31 home runs, 86 RBI and 35 doubles this season to become an NL Silver Slugger finalist. Like Soto, he also joined the exclusive 30/30 club when he hit more than 30 home runs and stole over 30 bases. However, his statistics weren’t enough to propel him past Perdomo, who was on quite a tear.

Lindor had won the award twice with the Cleveland Guardians before coming to New York. As a Met, the shortstop won the award in 2023 and 2024, meaning he could’ve become a three-time NL Silver Slugger.
