What Happened
On Thursday, Jose Ramirez homered in his first three at-bats for the Cleveland Guardians. He powered the Guardians to a 10-3 victory over the Boston Red Sox. His first was a solo home run off of Matt Dermody (0-1). Ramirez then rattled off his second home run of the night, which was his 200th career home run. In the sixth, he hit his third home run of the night as the Guardians hit for the cycle. The team had eight straight hits and scored five times.
In the sixth, Ramirez had a second opportunity to bat and had a chance to homer for the fourth time of the night, but struck out swinging. In the eighth, Ramirez grounded out to third in his next opportunity to knock it out of the park. This was Ramirez’s first career three-homer game. It was the seventh time in his career that he has hit a home run from both sides of the plate.
