Jacob Misiorowski faced pressure and challenges in the Milwaukee Brewers 2–1 NLCS Game One win over the Los Angeles Dodgers on Monday at American Family Field. The right-hander lasted 4 1/3 innings, earning striking out five. Still, he gave up five hits, three walks and an earned run. The Brewers relief unit shut down the Dodgers for the remainder of the game, combining for two strikeouts and two hits.
“It’s everything we ask for,” Misiorowski said of the relief unit. “Those guys are grinding out there. Every day being able to put up zeros, that’s the game. That’s the goal. It’s amazing what they’re doing and the work they’re putting in.”
Jacob Misiorowski Faces Challenges
In his first outing of the postseason, Misiorowski lasted four innings with six strikeouts in a 3–2 win over the San Diego Padres inGame One of the NLDS. He also allowed four hits, one walk and two earned runs which came off an RBI single and ground out in the first inning of that game. The result was not exactly what the Brewers needed as they relied heavily on the relief unit.
This occurred in similar fashion when Jacob Misiorowski faced the Dodgers in his second outing of the postseason. Following a scoreless first, the righty walked Shohei Ohtani and gave up a single to Teoscar Hernandez in the second. With two runners on, Misiorowski struck out Max Muncy but gave up an RBI single to Andy Pages. Despite his command being challenged early, he made it through the next two innings without giving up a run. His outing came to an end after walking Mookie Betts in the fifth. Overall, the mistakes got to him while he overcame some of them following the second inning.
“We have a stick, a paddle. I don’t know if your parents use that, but we have a paddle we keep in the back out there, and we just paddle him. I think I struck him seven or eight times, but then after that he seemed to get the message,” Brewers manager Pat Murphy joked about Misiorowski’s second inning.
Comparatively Speaking
In comparison to his first two outings of the playoffs, Misiorowski has performed differently from his first three playoff appearances in 2025. Against the Chicago Cubs in Games Two and Five of the NLDS, he recorded a combined seven strikeouts in seven innings across two wins. While facing the Dodgers in game three of the NLCS, he struck out nine batters but did give up two hits and an earned run.
