Braves 7, Red Sox 6

The Boston Red Sox fell, 7–6, to the to the Atlanta Braves on Tuesday night

at Fenway Park. Michael Harris II went 4‑for‑4 with three RBI, including a pivotal eighth‑inning home run. Spencer Strider allowed three runs over five innings to earn the win. Ranger Suarez gave up five runs in five-plus innings and took the loss.

Red Sox-Braves Game Summary

Jarren Duran and Ceddanne Rafaela opened the bottom of the first with back‑to‑back home runs off Spencer Strider. It gave the Red Sox an early 2–0 lead.

Braves Storm Back

Suárez held the Braves scoreless through four innings before Matt Olson tied the game with a two‑run home run in the fifth. Michael Harris II gave the Braves a 3–2 lead in the sixth with an RBI ground‑rule double.

Suárez exited after the double, and Greg Weissert entered in relief. The Braves added two more runs on a Dom Smith RBI groundout and a Ronald Acuña Jr. RBI single.

Strider left after walking Wilyer Abreu in the bottom of the sixth. The Red Sox loaded the bases with no outs, but scored only one run on a double play.

Isiah Kiner‑Falefa hit his first home run of the season in the seventh, cutting the deficit to 5–4.

In the eighth, Tyron Guerrero allowed a home run to Harris, extending the Braves’ lead to 7–4.

Red Sox Comeback Attempt

Raisel Iglesias entered for the ninth. The Red Sox opened the inning with singles from Mickey Gasper and Nick Sogard. Kiner‑Falefa drove in two runs with a single to make it 7–6. Duran followed with another single, but a fielder’s choice and a groundout ended the game.

Working Strider’s Pitch Count

The Red Sox recorded three walks against Strider and forced him to throw 87 pitches across five innings.

What Went Wrong for the Red Sox

Harris II’s Four‑Hit Game

Harris entered the night 3‑for‑20 in his career against Suárez but went 3‑for‑3 against him and later homered in the eighth.

Missed Chance in the Sixth

The Red Sox loaded the bases with no outs after Strider exited but scored only one run on a double play.

Ninth‑Inning Pattern

This was the third straight game in which the Red Sox scored in the ninth but did not tie the game.

Looking Ahead

Bryce Elder (4–2, 1.97 ERA, 11 GS) and Connelly Early (4-2, 3.33 ERA, 10 GS) are the pitchers taking the mound for the Braves and Red Sox, respectively, in Game Two of the series. First pitch Wednesday will be at 6:45 pm Eastern.
