Astros 0, Brewers 2

The Houston Astros fell to the Milwaukee Brewers, 2–0, on Sunday afternoon at Daikin Park as Brewers pitching delivered a scoreless performance in the series finale.

A two-run home run from Jake Bauers in the fourth inning scored enough for the Brewers as the Astros could not capitalize on multiple early opportunities at the plate.

Astros – Brewers Game Summary

The game opened as a pitching duel between Tatsuya Imai and Jacob Misiorowski. Both starters retired the side in order during the first inning, and neither offense generated much momentum through the opening two frames.

The Astros created their best scoring opportunity in the third inning. Jake Meyers singled, and Jeremy Peña followed with a base hit. Yordan Alvarez was hit by a pitch to load the bases with two outs. However, Christian Walker grounded out to end the threat and keep the game scoreless.

The Brewers broke through during the fourth inning. Andrew Vaughn singled with one out before Jake Bauers launched a two-run home run to left field. The blast gave the Brewers a 2–0 advantage.

The Astros threatened again in the bottom half when Isaac Paredes doubled and advanced to third on a groundout. The Astros could not bring him home, however, as Meyers flew out to end the inning.

Imai settled in after the home run and completed five innings. Alimber Santa and Nate Pearson followed with scoreless relief appearances. Misiorowski, however, controlled the game for the Brewers. The right-hander consistently worked ahead in counts and limited hard contact before turning the game over to the Brewers relief corps.

Abner Uribe handled the eighth inning, and Trevor Megill retired the Astros in order during the ninth to secure the victory and salvage the final game of the series for the Brewers.
